About Me

Being a strategic communications major I would like to put to use all I have learned in the future by working in a public relations department for a professional sports team. I also have experience in marketing so I would enjoy working with a marketing department too.

Being a junior, I have taken many classes in my major and have acquired experience in the public relations field. I am comfortable with using Adobe Photoshop, Audacity, Adobe InDesign, iMovie and the Microsoft Offices.

Working in public relations you need to be personable with strong communication as well as human relation skills. I have worked in environments where I need to put my communication skills to use and have excelled.

Working in a team environment is another strong skill that I have. I am able to listen as well as voice my own ideas and do not have a problem with taking criticism. Being a self-motivated person is something I take pride in and am able to bring that to any type of team I am working with.

I also feel as though I am a strong writer, which is a key skill you need to have in my desired field of work. Taking journalism classes has really been beneficial to my writing and has helped me feel more comfortable with writing about many different topics.

After working in a marketing department for a professional hockey team this summer I know that I will be adding to my experience in the field.
